Looking for a facilitator
principle #4
Visual management in a nutshell means "making work, processes and agreements visible for everyone."
It's through the visual tools that teams understand progress, bottlenecks and opportunities more quickly. Understanding then strengthens a feeling of shared responsibility, creates openess and boosts direct feedback. Visualization serves as a catalyst for change because it reduces complexity and facilitates collaboration.
There is a limit to visual management they say because not all work or information is suited for visualization. When the visualization of complex work is made to simplistic, it could lead to superficial understanding. It might then not capture the deeper meaning or in depth knowledge needed to actually move forward. And while that is true, there is much value in visual management because it does boost team alignment and transparency. It identifies issues faster and promotes a continuous improvement mentality.
